3D printed kayaks (Playboats)

#1
Playboats are all the rage where I live near the Susquehanna River. They are very small kayaks about 4.5-6ft long and no more than 2ft thick. I am throwing the idea around in my head of making a huge printer for printing custom playboats. I would probably need a huge extruder and it would probably be worth making my own filament since playboats are about 22-30 lbs of plastic. I could sell each one for around 1000-1300 dollars. Maybe more. Does anyone have any input about the plausibility of this?

You would have to find a more UV stable plastic to print with to start. Unless you built a really big heat chamber, I'd think ABS would be out; and I don't think PLA would stand up to the sun very well.

It might be easier to use a 3d printer to print a mold divided into pieces that could be combined and finished with bondo and then use that mold in a vacuum bagging process to create a fiberglass or carbon fiber product.
