What is a "Stepper Driver"

Staff member
A stepper driver is the electronics component which tells the motors how much to turn. These "drivers" also have a screw on them (called a potentiometer) which can be adjusted to determine how much power each motor should receive. A second potentiometer is a safety used to determine the temperature at which the stepper driver shuts off. This should be turned to the max.

Each printer comes with (5) stepper drivers. One for each axis (X, Y and Z) and two extruder drivers.

As outlined in the manual these drivers must be adjusted curing the calibration phase of the printer assembly.
