3d printer doens't turn on

#1
I had an issue with my gmax, basically it doesn't turn on anymore, it blinks once (all leds turn on) and it turns off immediately, i tried to check the power supply with a multimeter and it works fine, then I checked the arduino board and it should be fine and last I tried to unplug all parts connected to the arduino board but the printer still doesn't work. Any ideas how to solve this issue??

Hi Matteo,
First test the power supply to find out if it works. You can do this by placing a jumper to connect the pins circled in yellow. When these pins are connected the power supply should be on. You will know it works when you hear the fan of the power supply turn on.

If you can power up the printer this way than you need a new power button. If the power supply does not turn on than you need a new power supply. If the power supply does turn on but nothing else does than you need a new Ramps 1.4 board.

You don't have to power the arduino board separately for RAMPS, unless the RAMPS board has had diode D1 omitted (not installed) or disabled. There's a picture of D1 on the reprap wiki that will help you locate it. 3d printing service baroda gujarat indiaOrientation is important, too - having D1 the wrong way around is the same as (or worse than) not having it installed.

I had this problem tonight. Not sure if your cause is the same, but for me, when I was re-assembling the heater block, the amount of force I put on the heater/thermocouple set screw was crushing the wires of the cartridge heater and causing an internal short. The breaker in the power supply would trigger every time I turned on the machine. 3d printing services in ahmedabad

I was able to remove the heater, manually separate the wires at the 90degree bend, and delicately reinstall the heater, solving the problem.

Try removing your heater cartridge wires from the main board and turning on the machine - see if that's the problem. Remember to unplug your power supply first to reset the breaker.

The first thing you need to check if your 3d printer fails to turn on is the power supply. Everything about this issue might be related to power that's why it doesn't turn on. Have you check it yourself or have someone check it for you?
