Dual E3d V6 possible on the 1.5 XT+?

Postby dbonomo » Wed Aug 02, 2017 2:53 am

I know the printer is offered with dual j-heads, but only a single E3D as an option? Is there a technical reason for this or can this be retrofitted after purchase (or even better is dual e3d coming in the near future?

I intend to create a dual V6 tool head so I'll find out soon!

The V6 is quite a bit larger than the jhead hotend and I imagine that's part of why it isn't offered as stock. But with the new Titan Aero extruder combined with an E3D V6 heater block and nozzles I think it's practical to make something that works well. Obviously quite a bit of work though.

I did not realize there was that significant a size difference. Thanks for the response though!
