Z-axis bracket

Both the upper and lower z-axis rod clamps (not sure what else to call them...) are way so slim to fit the rods into. Is it OK to sand/file this out some or am I missing something? Being cautious as I don't want to end up with a pile of parts because I broke something during assembly...

It's supposed to snap onto the rod, it's a tight fit. How much force are you applying now? Sanding shouldn't result in part failure, ideally you'd use a round rasp to get into the curved area.
